Purchase Protection
When we entrust your shipment to a carrier, Italian road freight transport regulations legally cap the maximum compensation the courier is required to pay in the event of theft, loss or damage to the goods during transport.
Under Law No. 450 of 22 August 1985 and the subsequent amendments introduced by Article 10 of Legislative Decree No. 286 of 21 November 2005, the standard compensation payable by the carrier is €1 for each kg of gross weight of the lost or damaged goods, regardless of the actual value of the shipped goods.
This means that, without additional insurance cover, the compensation obtainable in the event of transport issues could be much lower than the actual value of the order.
What is Purchase Protection
Purchase Protection is an optional service you can add to your order at checkout. By activating it, in the event of theft, loss or damage to your order during transport, you will receive a refund matched to the actual value of the goods purchased, rather than only the weight-based amount set by transport regulations.
How the refund works
In the event of a recognised claim, the loss is settled applying a 10% deductible (excess) of the order value, with a minimum of €25.00.
Shipments with a value of up to €80.00 are excluded from the deductible, and are refunded in full with no deduction.
Protection cost table
The cost of Purchase Protection is calculated automatically at checkout based on the cart value, according to the following table:

For orders exceeding €6,000.00, the protection cost continues to increase proportionally in further brackets.
How to activate it
Purchase Protection is offered automatically at checkout. Simply select the "Include protection" option to add the cover to your order before proceeding to payment.
This service is an optional add-on for the customer's benefit and does not replace or modify the carrier's statutory obligations under the freight transport regulations in force.
