Samura
Japanese brand founded in 2003 that immediately launched a revolution in the kitchen knife sector, combining Japanese traditions with advanced production technologies. The first product line was created in collaboration with the Japanese companies MAC and Mcusta, from which it acquired the techniques of traditional Japanese manufacturing. The brand identified the limitations of traditional Japanese knives (fragility and a tendency to rust due to the high carbon content) and developed solutions by making knives in Japanese steel hardened to 58-61 HRC with a 17-degree sharpening angle, wider than classic Japanese knives. The handles are made from modern materials such as Micarta, G10 and Kraton, while the steel used is AUS 8, AUS 10 and Swedish materials depending on the line. Today Samura has over 18 active knife lines and has been developing production in four countries since 2010.
