Gude
Knife manufacturer founded in 1910 by Karl Güde in the city of Solingen, Germany, the historic centre of cutlery since the late Middle Ages. From the outset, Güde knives have been forged from a single piece of steel, hand-ground, fitted with handles and hand-sharpened, always among the highest-quality Solingen products. In 1923 the three palm trees were introduced as Güde's trademark and immediately became a symbol known worldwide for the quality of the knife made in Solingen. For over a century the company has produced high-quality German kitchen knives, where much of the work is still done by hand, with over 30 production steps requiring the supervision of master cutlers. The brand has consciously focused on craftsmanship rather than mass production, creating perfect kitchen knives that provide years of use in both professional and home kitchens.
